Ethan Hawke was born on November 6, 1970 in Austin, the capital of the US state of Texas. When he was 11, he moved to New Jersey with his family and started his high school education again. After graduating from high school, he went to the state of Pennsylvania to study at Carnegie Mellon University. During these years, he took acting classes and turned to the theatre.

At the age of 21, he soon became famous for his starring role in the ”white tooth” film.
