Jared Leto was born in December 1971 as the Son of an economically difficult family. When his parents left at a young age, he decided to use his stepfather's surname. He grew up with his brother Shannon and moved to California for his acting career. When she was 21, she had her first acting experience with camp Wilder.

In 1999, he appeared in Brad Pitt's ”fight club”, starring a year later, and was recognized worldwide by the American psycho.
