Roger Federer was born on August 8, 1981 in Basel, Switzerland, the third largest city, as the first child of Robert and Lynette. When he was still in primary school, he turned to tennis with the help of his family and became professional at a young age. When he was 16, he became known as the world's best young tennis player.
